George Newton was licensed as an Enrolled Agent in 1979. He has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Wichita, and a Master's degree in Management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. George is presently a director of the Palomar Chapter of the California Society of Enrolled Agents, where he has served as both a chapter and state director. George is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the Califronia Society of Enrolled Agents, the National Society of Public Accountants, and the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce.

Al Bergstrom has an undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Financial Accounting, and a Master's degree in Taxation. An Enrolled Agent since 1992, Al's professional credentials include adjunct faculty with Park University and Fellow, National Tax Practice Institute. Al is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, California Society of Enrolled Agents and a Member of Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce.

WHAT IS AN ENROLLED AGENT?

Enrolled Agents are professional tax practitioners, who are enrolled to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and can assist you in tax planning, preparation, and representation. Enrolled Agents are the only tax professionals tested by the IRS on their knowledge of tax law and regulations, and adhere to a Code of Ethics and professional conduct established by the U.S. Treasury Department.

Enrolled Agents have been around for well over a hundred years. Enrollment was established in 1884 by the U.S. government to regulate agents who represented citizens with claims for Civil War losses. Today, the nearly 4000 members of the California Society of Enrolled Agents, prepare more than 2 million tax returns each year!
