Newton and Associates, Inc. is a continuation of this practice. The owners, George Newton and Al Bergstrom, are Enrolled Agents who have over 50 years combined accounting and tax experience.
An Enrolled Agent is an individual, who has technical expertise in the field of taxation, and is licensed by the U.S. Department of Treasury to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service at all administrative levels including audits, collections and appeals. As Enrolled Agents, George and Al provide tax services to individual and business clients, as well as trusts, tax exempt organizations, and estates. With the latest in tax preparation software, George and Al prepare all federal and state tax returns, and presently prepare tax returns for clients in 26 states.
We are available for tax consultation and planning year round. Our fees for preparing tax returns are based upon the complexity of the return and the preparation time; consultation fees and audit representation are based upon hourly rates; there is no charge for initial consultation.
We also provide complete bookkeeping and payroll services to business clients. These include periodic financial statements, tax deposit computation, bank reconciliation, payroll processing, sales tax and other related services.
